How can I make a booking?
You can make a booking from the description page of the house selected, which you will have accessed after having carried out a search. All you need to do then is click on “Book this house”. You will access a guided path which will allow you to insert your personal data, and have the possibility to check our appartments and contact us.
How will I receive my confirmation?
When you make your booking during office hours you will normally receive your confirmation via email, or fax within 24 hours of confirming the booking. However, timing depends on when we receive confirmation back from the property that you have requested to book.
What happens after I have made a reservation?
After you make a reservation, we'll send you the confirmation of your booking, our phone numbers and the directions to reach the apartment with instructions on where we can meet.
Which kind of payment do You accept ?
For payment we accept credit cards, checks and wire transfers.
Are the cleaning costs included in the price?
The booked house will be handed over to you clean and in order. Cleaning costs will be indicated in the description of the house on our website. Nonetheless, you will need to pay to the owner or his/her keyholder the amount of the cleaning costs (if indicated in the description of the house). This amount does not include the cleaning of the kitchen/kitchen corner/kitchenette which is your responsibility as is the removal of rubbish. Otherwise the owner or his/her representative can request additional fees. If no extra fees are requested for the cleaning costs, you are responsible for leaving the house clean and in order. If the house is not given back clean and in order, you will have to pay cleaning costs directly to the owner or his/her representative.
What costs are not included in the letting price?
Any additional costs, if foreseen, are indicated in the description of the house.
A deposit will be requested of you, which is to be paid in cash upon arrival. This deposit will be given back to you at the end of your stay, minus any extra fees as well as the amount to cover any damages that may have been caused to the house or the furniture.
The amount of the deposit, if foreseen, is indicated in the description of the house.
What is the check-in and check-out time?
Normally check-in is between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Check-out is normally by 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. In between, the properties are cleaned - we kindly ask you that you give the owner adequate time to clean up the house. If you have intentions of arriving before 4 p.m please let us know ahead of time.
How do I obtain the keys to my apartment?
At the time of booking you will be advised by our reservation consultant of the check in procedure. If the property you have booked has a 24 hour reception, you can just turn up with your confirmation and they will give you the keys.
Do you have a catalog?
We offer a web catalog rather than a printed one. This enables us to give our clients the most up to date and accurate information regarding the properties we represent. We are continually updating our site and adding new properties. Visit us often to see what's new.
What differences can I expect between an Italian and an American apartment or house?
Clients most often comment on the incredible feeling of living amidst the deep layers of Italian culture and history. However, they also mention that the luxury they most miss is an American-style shower. Italian houses often have a tub with a shower wand, instead of a separate shower. Along with the charm and history you may also find old plumbing and you might need to be patient with the drains. Also, stoves, washing machines, and other appliances may work rather differently than they do at home - ask the property owner to show
You how things work!
Is the kitchen fully equipped/is there a washer and a dryer?
Kitchens are always well equipped and in working order. Dishes, glasses and eating utensils for at least the number of people the property sleeps are always included. Usually there is an Italian coffee machine (called "moka"). If you have special requests for the kitchen or you want to know exactly how the kitchen is equipped please e-mail us. We visit every property and can be of great help. Check the amenities list for each property to see whether a dishwasher and washing machine are available. Dryers do not exist in southern Italy: our dryer is the sun!
What are the beds like in Italy?
Italian beds are often a little shorter than standard beds. It is also common to push two twin beds together instead of having a single king size bed. Even when you have a single king size bed you may find that two mattresses are being used. A single bed is usually 90 cm wide. A double bed is 160 cm wide. It is not uncommon to find bunk beds (two beds, one on top of the other.
Are electric plugs and voltage the same in Europe?
No, electric plugs are different than in the USA, UK and Australia. Electric voltage in Italy is 230V so you'll need an adapter and a transformer since in the US electric voltage is 120V. Travelers from the UK or Australia just need an adapter since their voltage is 230V.
What happens if we break something while we are in the house?
On departure you should inform the property owner of the damage. The owner might subtract the amount needed to repair the damage from the security deposit. Contact us at any time if you need assistance
What happens if we have a problem during our stay?
If there is any problem with the property you can call either us or the property owner. While you stay in one of our properties we are always around - just a phone call away. All you need to do is let us know you need us!
